Whitepaper – An Industrial Workflow for Scalable Micro and Nanostructures

Together with Himax IGI and 3D AG, polyscale innovations GmbH has published a white paper that describes an end-to-end industrial process for scaling micro- and nanostructures from the idea to series production.

The white paper shows a fully integrated process chain: from the simulative design of the microstructures to large-scale lithographic master production and the high-precision production of electroformed nickel tools through to industrial roll-to-roll UV nanoimprint replication. A real foil demonstrator is used to prove that even complex microstructures can be transferred to industrial scale with high accuracy and reproducibility.

Analysis of the replicated structures shows excellent process stability with very low deviations in angles, lateral dimensions and structure height. The white paper thus provides practical evidence of how clearly defined interfaces and coordinated quality standards enable the reliable transition from laboratory structures to industrial mass production.
